A series of unfortunate events

Stolen purse + earthquake + Irene = No passport. No credit cards. No IDs. No phones. No driver's license. No power. Broken plates. No functioning fridge. No car. No internet. No TV. Out of cash. Almost out of food.

Yesterday at the supermarket, for the first time in at least 25 years, I had to carefully select what food to buy with my last $10 of cash.

Today I come to work, and here, everything is normal. Eery!
